Crypt4Free 5.3.0 - Added AutoUpdate ability. Crypt4Free can now update itself to newer version automatically.

It was no very comfortable for our users to upgrade to newer versions of Crypt4Free. It was needed to uninstall previous version, then download new one and install it again.

Now, since this 5.3.0 version  the process is pretty simple!

Just click the "Upgrade to xx.xx" button in the "New version detected window" and Crypt4Free will download the new version and install it fully automatically!

Released Crypt4Free 5.2.2. Ctrl-Space hot key now provides more information about selected files/folders...

In previous version we added statistics about file types in the selected directories. It displayed 3 top types of files in these directories. For example: "29 EXE (14%), 26 BMP (13%), 25 JPG (12%)".Now it shows more information.

Released Crypt4Free 5.1.9. Redesigned Start button. Now it indicates the status of current operation. See screenshot here. Also we fixed some bugs..

We removed the green image of Start button. Now, this button displays the status of current operation, for example: "Encrypt Now", "Decrypt Now", "Encrypt by Public Key", "Securely Delete" and etc. So, now it is easier to use the program.

Also, the previous version has the bug: it displayed the message "new version detected" when the installed product version was the same as the latest version on the server. We fixed this situation.

Released Crypt4Free 5.1.8. Now our free encryption/decryption utility can check its website for the new version of the program automatically..

Now, Crypt4Free is able to detect new version on its web site and show the complete information about this new version including all new features and the list of all fixed bug.

Now Crypt4Free is fully Windows 7 compatible.

Released Crypt4Free 5.1.0. Major update. Now it is possible to double click encrypted document, decrypt it, edit it in the associated application and then encrypt it again. And all this operations are performed in single mouse click!.

In this version we've added very handy feature - ability to directly edit encrypted document in single mouse click.

For example, we have the following encrypted document (it is usual document in RTF format):

Firstly, we double click License.rtf document.

Crypt4Free was already installed on this system and it intercepts the attempt to double click the encrypted file and displays the following password window:

We enter right password, choose the destiny of encrypted file as "Delete" (encrypted file will be deleted automatically after successful decryption) and click OK button.

If password is correct, the decrypted document will be opened in associated application automatically (in our case it is WordPad):

We make changes in this document, then close the Windows 7's WordPad document.

Crypt4Free detects this situation and asks us - would we like to reencrypt the changed document using the same password? We click yes.

And the document is reencrypted:

In this version version, we've also made several minor interface enhancements. For example, when any file is decrypted from shell context menu, the text cursor is set to the password text field firstly.

Released Crypt4Free 5.0.2. Added "maximize" button to the main program window.

Program window has "maximize" button now. So, it can now be maximized, not only resized by mouse button.
